EmoSense: AI-Driven Facial Emotion Analysis for Personalized Storytelling and Book Recommendations

In an era where technology is increasingly integrated into our daily lives, artificial intelligence (AI) has begun influencing education and learning methods. This paper introduces EmoSense, an innovative AI-driven model that analyzes human emotions through facial recognition and recommends relevant story books based on the detected emotions. The objective of EmoSense is to redefine the way individuals, particularly teens, engage with story books, by offering a personalized and engaging reading experience. By focusing on emotion detection, the system suggests non-academic story books, promoting the development of a lifelong reading habit. In addition, the text-to-speech (TTS) functionality ensures access for those with limited time to read but a desire to gain insights. This paper provides an overview of the technological framework, a literature survey on emotion detection and personalized emotion-based story recommendations and discusses the potential impact of such a system on reading habits, especially among youth.
