Synchronization of Video and Gyroscope Data Based on FPGA for Electro-Optical Systems Stabilization

Video stabilization has become an essential feature in modern EO (Electro-Optical) systems that engage embedded systems. Among the various methods developed to date, data fusion techniques involving gyroscope sensors have been widely adopted. Nevertheless, implementing such approaches on FPGA-based embedded platforms introduces a range of challenges, particularly when aiming to achieve real-time performance. This work presents in detail the implementation of a synchronization methodology between gyroscope data and video signal on an embedded system with FPGA platform, establishing the temporal correlation necessary for subsequent video stabilization algorithm.
