IoT Connected AI-Powered 3D Food Printing for Smart Food Production

The Food as a Service (FAS) presents a design space research scenario that show cases design alternatives for a system that can leverage Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies for food production and delivery through a portable AI-powered 3D food printing solution. By integrating advanced machine learning models and IoT-enabled monitoring, the system design aims at effective resource utilization, operational inefficiencies reduction, and food waste minimization while taking into account sensible cost savings. Key features of the design scenario include predictive maintenance and real-time anomaly detection to enhance system reliability and reduce downtime. This article will describe the conceptual design process of brainstorming, solution alternatives selection and the process of choosing the best solution for this work.
