A Non-Contact Thickness Measurement Method of Steel Plates Based on Electromagnetic Ultrasound

In order to achieve automation and high-precision thickness measurement of large-sized steel plates, a non-contact thickness measurement method of steel plates based on electromagnetic ultrasound is proposed in this paper. The principle and system composition of the ultrasonic thickness measurement system for steel plates are introduced, and the hardware schematic and main program software flowchart of the control system are proposed. Then, the ultrasonic thickness measurement system is built, and the effectiveness of thickness measurement methods is verified. The thickness measurement error does not exceed 0.1mm, the proposed method has the advantages of high precision, fast measurement, non-destructive detection, fixed-point measurement, data recording and analysis.
