Design of A Novel Efficient Microwave Absorption Material (MAM) using Cu/g-C3N4/PVDF/CB Composite

The impact of metal nanoparticles decorated over the two-dimensional (2D) nanostructures in successfully designing microwave absorption materials (MAM) is very significant. This work has been focused on designing noble, efficient, and promising MAM based on 2D nanostructures. We have successfully developed composites of copper (Cu) nanoparticles grafted over graphitic carbon nitride (g-C₃N₄) nanosheets coated in carbon black (CB) and polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) medium to enrich the microwave absorption of g-C₃N₄. The designed MAM is efficient, showing the highest return loss (RL) of -38.42 dB at 8.97 GHz. It shows an average RL of 17.86 dB, while the highest efficiency observed here is 99.98%. The overall contributions of dielectric behaviors are also interpreted to investigate electromagnetic absorption. The improved ability of g-C₃N₄ to absorb electromagnetic waves is accomplished due to the outstanding conductivity of Cu. The addition of the conductive medium CB and the absorption medium PVDF also improves the performance efficacy. With superior impedance matching characteristics, the composite material comprising Cu/g-C₃N₄/PVDF/CB exhibits promising prospects, demonstrating robust dielectric properties and exceptional absorption capabilities. An extensive performance comparison with notable previous works has also been reported.
