Chatbot for Developing the Cognitive Abilities of a Technological Process Operator

There is currently an increase in the use of virtual agents to support various parts of the manufacturing process. Mostly such agents are used to present production information, train workers, and to control robotic installations. For critical industries, an important place is occupied by operators who monitor the flow of the technological process. According to a few models of operator awareness of the situation and its diagnostic effectiveness, the attention of the operator is a key element that determines this process. Therefore, training and development of attention is an important component of the development of operator skills. The aim of the work is to develop a virtual agent in the form of a chatbot for training and progression of attention and working memory of the operator and to study the effectiveness of its use. No such chatbots have been found in the literature. The developed chatbot included exercises based on the Bourdon correction test, as well as some functionality that increases the efficiency of its use. From the results of the experiment, some conclusions were drawn regarding the effectiveness of the created chatbot and ways to increase the efficiency of its use.
