Lightweight Design and Performance Analysis of Electric Permanent Magnet Chuck

An electronically controlled permanent magnet chuck offers key attributes such as safety, reliability, high efficiency, stability, energy conservation, and environmental friendliness, making it widely applicable in sectors like machinery manufacturing and aerospace. However, challenges arise in applications involving lifting and movement due to constraints in weight and size. Therefore, there is a critical need to undertake lightweight design considerations for these suction cups. In this paper, ANSYS Maxwell software is used to simulate the influence of different parameters on the performance of magnetic pole unit suckers with square structure and optimize the design of suckers according to the lightweight design requirements of electronic permanent magnet suckers. Finally, a suction cup with a magnetic force of 600kg is designed to achieve the performance of less residual magnetic, lightweight, and small volume.
