Research on Testing and Analysis Methods for the Inlet System of Civil Aircraft Power Plant

The inlet system of the power plant is not only the key to ensuring the quality of engine inlet, but also closely related to flight safety. 25.939 (a), 25.939 (c), and 25.1091 (a) (1) all have relevant requirements for the inlet system of civil aircraft power plants to prevent the inlet system from causing harm to the power plant system or aircraft in the event of significant and inlet distortion, which affects flight safety. This article interprets the airworthiness provisions related to the inlet system, taking the airworthiness certification of a certain type of civil aircraft power plant system as an example, explaining which tests should be carried out to verify the compliance of the power plant inlet system, and demonstrating how to set test points to ensure the representativeness of the tests. Finally, the analysis method of the inlet system test is studied, and criteria for confirming the representativeness of crosswind tests are provided.
