Infinite Environment to Sustainable Tamil NLP

The Tamil language, with its rich literary heritage and unique linguistic characteristics, presents extensive opportunities for Natural Language Processing (NLP) research. However, the field of Tamil NLP remains largely non-standardized, resulting in a fragmented landscape of models and techniques. This paper addresses these challenges by offering a comprehensive analysis of the current Tamil NLP environment. It examines digital font variations, transcription methods, and the distinctions between prose and poetry, as well as the morphological intricacies of Tamil grammar and phonetics. By evaluating these aspects, the paper aims to identify suitable adaptations of NLP techniques to enhance the efficacy and sustainability of Tamil NLP models. The goal is to propose a unified and coherent framework that supports sustainable development in Tamil NLP, contributing to robust, interoperable, and sustainable models.
