Using Particle Swarm Optimization to Solve Level of Repair Analysis Problem

Level of repair analysis (LORA) is an approach used during the design stage of complex equipment for analysis of the cost effectiveness of maintenance strategies. In this paper, we develop a mathematical model for LORA economic evaluation. Then the optimization model is provided to minimize the life cycle maintenance cost. After that we propose a solution methodology based on particle swarm optimization. Finally, an example is analyzed in detail for the method mentioned above and the result shows that the model is correct and effective.
