Research on the Design of Ageing-Friendly Sanitary Ware Products Based on the Kano Model

At present, China's imperfect basic products for the elderly are in sharp contrast to the urgency of the aging needs of this group. Elderly people, as a special living group with young people in physiological function and inner emotional needs there are great differences in the focus of the products needed and the actual products are very different, and the relevant theoretical research has not yet been fully applied to the actual product development. Especially for sanitary ware products, there are very few aging sanitary ware products suitable for the elderly in the market at present. Therefore, this thesis chooses elderly sanitary ware products as a case study, starts from the demand characteristics of the elderly group, and uses the KANO model to establish a questionnaire design and evaluation system based on target users. It also analyzes the demand parameters of the use group and organizes the research on sanitary ware products, analyzes the type of demand and the importance of user demand by using the KANO model theory, and applies the demand index items with higher importance to the subsequent practice of designing age-appropriate sanitary ware products. When designing ageing-friendly products, in-depth analysis of the psychological and physiological characteristics of elderly users is used to guide a more targeted design to reduce the burden on children and ensure that the elderly safely enjoy the bathing process, providing a reference for ageing-friendly bathroom design.
