Research on the Design of Elderly Walking Aid Products Based on Sapad Method Model

Objective To analyse the behaviours and needs of the elderly user group from their actual use situation, and then design more humane, safe and comfortable mobility aids that better meet their real needs. Methods Based on the SAPAD methodology model, i.e., Situation-Action-Product-AnalysisDesign (SAPAD) methodology model, in-depth understanding of the actual needs of elderly people when using mobility aids, through the mapping of behaviour, object and meaning, and analysis, we study the practical design. Through the mapping of behaviours to objects and meanings, pragmatic design solutions were investigated. The results: Through humanised design elements and innovative technology applications, safer, more comfortable and convenient mobility aids are provided to the elderly. Conclusion The SAPAD method, as the core methodology of this study, not only provides theoretical and methodological support for the design of elderly mobility aids but also provides practical design solutions for the improvement of the quality of life of the elderly, which is of great social significance and application value.
