A Prototype for Cloud-based Electronic Archiving Services within a Digital Enterprise

A Digital Enterprise (DE) is defined as an organization that uses digital technologies in its operations to remain competitive within the current Industry 4.0 paradigm. The paper focuses on a particular DE component service, i.e. Electronic Archiving (EA). This innovative cloud-based service is offered by reusing some functionalities provided by the microservices that compose the middleware developed within the CERT ENTTRUST project. The design and implementation of the EA components started from the SDK (Software Development Kit) developed in the DE’s middleware. It contains a set of auxiliary subcomponents that define the data structure (models’ area) and common behavior (services area). The paper presents the results of the design and implementation processes: several UML class-, sequence- and communication diagrams developed during the development, accompanied by related code captures and test results.
