Evaluating RF Radiation Absorption in Biological Tissues and Enhancing Protection with Graphene Shielding

As the use of radiofrequency (RF) radiation becomes increasingly prevalent in modern technology, it's essential to gain a deep understanding of its impact on biological tissues. The experimental setup used in this study compares the received RF power and Localized Specific Absorption Rate (LSAR) with graphene shielding and mutton tissue. The three scenarios tested for RF power measurements included: without a sample, with mutton tissue, and with a graphene shield. In increments of 10°, the transmitting antenna was rotated from 0° to 360°, and the data was interpolated to a resolution of 1°. The effects of graphene and living tissue on RF power reception are shown in comparative charts created in MATLAB. Graphene shielding further decreases RF absorption, especially at maximal energy transfer angles (90°, 180°, and 270°), while mutton tissue attenuates RF signals generally, according to the data. Graphene is an excellent material for RF shielding, significantly reducing RF power absorption by tissue. The findings of this study have significant bearing on the development of RF shielding technologies, where the average LSAR without shielding found 0.4969W/kg on the other hand by using graphene shield it was reduced to 0.2890 W/kg, so the design of wireless communication systems, and the development of biomedical applications that aim to reduce exposure to RF radiation.
