Ultra Broadband wide angle tunable Graphene based terahertz (THz) absorber

This paper shows design and analysis of a single-striped graphene-based tunable metasurface absorber for terahertz (THz) applications. A 3D Finite Element Method (FEM), used during the analysis of structure results in more than 90% absorption over a broad frequency range (0.12 to 1.89 THz). The structure shows a very high electric field at the presence of graphene and a high magnetic field intensity of 360 A/m at the center of graphene. The proposed structure has a tunable function over the properties of graphene, and with a strip width of 26.7μm, a chemical potential of 0.1 eV, and a relaxation time of 0.1ps, the absorber observes the highest bandwidth around 1772.2 GHz. A bandwidth of 2529.3 GHz is observed for more than 80% absorption at 36.4μm graphene thickness.
