Research on the Current Status and Standard System of IEC Standards for Sustainable Electrified Transportation

With an increasing number of countries adopting carbon neutrality targets, the electrification of transportation has ascended to a position of critical priority. In a bid to more effectively implement the IEC development strategy, facilitate the attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and augment standardization within the Sustainable Electrified Transportation (SET) domain, this paper focuses on the research of IEC standard system for SET. Through a comprehensive analysis of the IEC system work and the ongoing activities of the Systems Committee on Sustainable Electrified Transportation (SyC SET), the paper uncovers the challenges of standard system construction in the SET landscape. These encompass the complex and diverse standard requirements for cross-system integration in the SET field, as well as the lack of a top-down approach to constructing a standard system. In response, this study devises a holistic standard system framework for SET, which delves into dimensions such as construction principles, foundational methodologies, classification architectures, and system frameworks. The work of this paper proffers invaluable sustenance to Standard Development Organizations (SDOs) for formulating standards and catalyzing cross-departmental standardization endeavors within the SET realm and its affiliated domains.
