Research on Supply-Demand Analysis and Adaptation Measures of Ramping Ancillary Services Under Large-Scale PV Development-A Case Study of China Henan Power Grid

The large-scale PV integration significantly increases the demand for ramping ancillary services in the system. A severe imbalance in the supply and demand of ramping ancillary services can lead to serious consequences such as rolling blackouts of the system. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct relevant supply-demand analysis and adaptation measures research. This paper first explains the demand sources and supply mechanisms of ramping ancillary services; then, based on data from the Henan Power Grid, it conducts quantitative calculations to analyze the characteristics of ramping ancillary service demand and supply resources, and predicts the supply-demand balance of ramping ancillary services in the Henan Power Grid before 2030 at multiple time scales and key time nodes; finally, it proposes work suggestions from aspects such as strengthening short-term balance analysis research, enhancing the ramping operation mode research of pumped storage and new energy storage, exploring the participation of ultra-high voltage direct current in ramping, and increasing the guidance of time-of-use pricing.
