This research examines cognitive biases, specifically confirmation bias, and explores their potential applications in design. The study emphasizes the impact of confirmation bias on human decision-making, focusing on its role in seeking information aligned with preexisting beliefs. The research analyzes confirmation bias in user interactions, particularly in e-commerce and online dating applications, identifying pain points and proposing practical design strategies to overcome skepticism. Key findings indicate that virtual try-on technology in e-commerce and enhanced security measures in online dating can mitigate confirmation bias, improve user trust, and increase satisfaction.
