Enhanced Handover Methods in LTE-Enhanced Architecture

The requirements for efficient information processing in wireless networks, for example, the 4G long-range evolution (LTE)-enhanced system, which ensures QoS perspective, and provides fast and seamless access to the audio/video/multimedia information are increasing. Besides, the handover frequency will be higher since the mobility rates rise to 550 km/h, causing increased wastage of packets and higher latency. Consequently, appropriate load control of radio resources, disturbances and handovers are important issues for the radio resource management. We provide a thorough overview of the improved handover methods, specifications, and features of the LTE-improved system in this article. Additionally, advanced changeover strategies that feature backwards compatibility with the current system are emphasised and addressed. These techniques include multi-carrier changeover (MCHO), semi-soft changeover (SSHO), and fragment soft changeover (FSHO). In meantime, cell performance and user turnover numbers are being studied for the FSHO technology, which is based on CA and 5CCs. The findings demonstrates that FSHO with five CCs outperforms NonCA in terms of cell performance and user downtime counts for LTE-Enhanced systems. As a result, although the currently suggested handover strategies offer a number of benefits, they are insufficient to address complex handover issues. Consequently, in order to provide quick and flawless turnover in LTE-Enhanced systems, a new changeover approach is necessary. Consequently, a combination of FSHO, SSHO, and MCHO approaches is presented as an enhanced handover strategy that may improve the system's efficiency in terms of latency, failure likelihood, and handover reliability, particularly at the cell border. By distributing the traffic load across the network cells, the anticipated result of this hybrid approach may also lower communication expenses on the networking cells.
