Design and Development of Autonomous Ball Collecting Machine Using Fomo Algorithm

Gathering tennis balls during practice or Matches is frequently a tiresome and time-consuming activity, involving considerable hand labour and resulting in interference with play. This project proposes a tennis ball gathering machine for automating retrieval to maximise efficiency and convenience. This paper documents the preliminary work on designing and developing an automatic tennis ball gathering system. The mechanism consists of a turbine system that picks up tennis balls on the move. Computer vision methods automatically track and detect tennis balls, with hardware acceleration for improved performance. For navigation, ultrasonic sensors detect obstacles coming towards the balls. It can be bought or rented and suits individual players, clubs, and coaches.
