Down Syndrome Detection and Classification Using Anfis Classification Approach

An extra copy of chromosome 21 causes the genetic disorder known as Down syndrome (DS). Physical and mental difficulties result from this additional chromosome's impact on the body and brain's development. The proposed system contains preprocessing block, feature extraction block and classification block for DS detection process. The image enhancement has been performed on preprocessing stage, the features Grey Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) and Local Binary Pattern (LBP) are computed at feature extraction stage. The Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference (ANFIS) classifier has been used in classification stage to classify the fetus image into either normal or abnormal.
