F.E.A.S.T. -Food Efficiency and Support for Targeted Communities

A drastic increase can be seen in food waste. As per WHO 20% of the population face extreme food shortages. Hence there is a need to come up with a solution that can avoid food waste & can help feed the needy. Our project centers on combating food waste through an innovative Android application featuring two integral modules: the Donation Module and the Volunteer Module. The Donation Module empowers individuals to easily donate surplus high-quality food by inputting detailed information within the app, facilitating a streamlined process for potential recipients in need. Conversely, the Volunteer Module enables individuals or organizations facing food scarcity to express their specific requirements, fostering a direct link with potential donors. This application revolutionizes conventional food distribution by leveraging technology to create a sustainable, user-friendly interface that promotes a culture of empathy and active participation in curbing food wastage. It aims to bridge the gap between surplus food and those in need, fostering a community-driven approach to tackle hunger and inefficiencies in food disposal. Our vision extends towards a future where surplus food becomes a lifeline for the underprivileged, reshaping the food distribution paradigm for a more equitable and sustainable world
