Research on Phase Modulation Technology in Continuous Coherent Laser Wind Lidar Systems

Atmospheric wind field detection holds significant importance in fields such as aerospace and environmental monitoring. In coherent laser wind lidar systems, the frequency-shifting method impacts the system's wind speed detection range and effectiveness. Most detection systems utilize acousto-optic modulators as the modulation method, which are limited by the device's fixed modulation frequency and cannot be adjusted according to different scenario requirements. To address this, this system adopts a modulation approach combining a phase modulator with a semiconductor optical amplifier. A continuous coherent wind detection system was constructed to verify the correctness of this modulation method, and experimental tests demonstrated that the system can successfully detect near-field wind speeds.
