Collinear Acousto-Optic Filtering of Polychromatic Bessel Light Beams in Calcium Molybdate Crystals

This work examines the characteristics of collinear acousto-optic filtering of quasi-nondiffracting Bessel light beams of ordinary o- and extraordinary e- polarization types in uniaxial calcium molybdate (CaMoO4) crystals. By applying the overlap integral approach, an analytical expression for diffraction efficiency is derived, which incorporates both the parameters of the acousto-optic interaction and the corresponding overlap integrals. The analysis demonstrates that, for the zero-order mode of a Bessel beam in CaMoO4 under transverse phase matching and within the optical wavelength range of 0.45–0.66 μm, it is possible to achieve a filter passband width of approximately 0.5 nm.
