Real-Time Communication for Smart Methane Power Generation in Wastewater Treatment using PLC S7-1200-SCADA

The research aims to analyze the production of electric energy using methane gas obtained from wastewater treatment plants with an emphasis on the conversion of waste to a clean source of energy. Methane gas is obtained by anaerobic digestion of organic wastewater solids, refined, and used as fuel to power electric power generation engines. To make this process more efficient, the research proposes the use of advanced control systems to track data and regulate processes, and monitoring systems that provide real-time monitoring of the performance of the system. There is a data exchange between these systems using special communication protocols, which facilitates effective data analysis and decision-making, which helps in predicting the performance of systems and improving energy production efficiency. The method provides significant environmental and economic benefits, such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions, reducing operational expenditure, and improving reliance on renewable energy sources. The paper presents an integrated model that can be employed in wastewater treatment facilities to convert waste to energy to achieve sustainable development objectives.
