A Dead-Time Compensation Method for SVPWM Control Inverter of PMSM

The dead-time phenomenon may result in the distortion of the current and fluctuations in torque within the permanent magnet. Aiming at the problem, The suggestion is made for a strategy to compensate for dead-time errors while also eradicating the clamping effect of zero current. After examining the elements influencing the dead-time impact and representing the equivalent dead-time, the error voltage caused by this equivalent dead-time is balanced in a two-axis static frame using the Average dead-time compensation method. To enhance the precision in detecting current polarity, Kalman filtering is utilized to remove the high harmonics of the current under the d-q rotating shaft system, and the three-phase currents are reconstructed to determine the sector in which the stationary axis system is located to determine the compensation voltage to be applied. In addition, to enhance the caliber of the resultant current waveform, a zero-current clamping effect elimination method is incorporated into the above compensation method. Implementation of the compensation algorithm is carried out on a TMS320F28379 DSP chip, and The effectiveness of the algorithm for compensating dead-time has been verified in a system with vector control and a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive.
