The Effect of Leadership Style on Organizational Performance: Integrating Emotional Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence

The expectation of every employer is to maximize employee performance, as it is believed that individual performance varies based on the job. However, a critical issue faced by organizations is the lack of effective leadership strategies that integrate both emotional intelligence and artificial intelligence, which can impact decision-making and employee engagement. Emotional intelligence combined with artificial intelligence, refers to the ability to understand and manage one's own emotions as well as those of others, enhancing interpersonal relationships and decision-making. Leadership competence, which encompasses fulfilling organizational duties, meeting deadlines, sustaining effective processes, and suggesting profitable projects, is closely tied to the leader's ability to act effectively in a leadership role. The style of leadership adopted within an organization significantly influences employee performance and overall organizational success. This study explores the impact of leadership style on organizational performance, while integrating emotional intelligence and artificial intelligence in the leadership context. The study relied on survey instruments, and a total of 161 participants were selected using the multistage sampling technique. The statistical package for the social sciences was used for data analysis. The results revealed that leadership style significantly affects organizational performance, with leadership style being correlated with emotional intelligence. The results indicate a remarkable connection between emotional intelligence and leadership style and show that leadership style has a significant impact on organizational performance. However, due to the study's focus on Nigerian corporate organizations, its generalizability to other regions is limited. Additionally, a more rigorous examination of AI's role in leadership could further enhance the findings. While the emotional intelligence of corporate employees has been found to be moderate, emotional stability and artificial intelligence training could improve their ability to deal with professional challenges, thereby promoting organizational performance.
