IllumiGate: Conditional Lighting for Secure Access

The proposed paper, IllumiGate, aims to enhance security and safety for roadways by integrating an intelligent access control mechanism with adaptive street lighting. The system utilizes a passkey to determine vehicle eligibility for entry through a designated gate. Upon verification of a valid passkey, the streetlights illuminate sequentially based on the proximity of the authorized vehicle, ensuring the path is well-lit as and on the vehicle passes through. In case of situations where the vehicle tried to cross the gate with an incorrect passkey or without the passkey, the lighting system remains inactive; and an alarm is triggered which alerts the security personnel. The road remains dark and unlit while the vehicle crosses; rendering the road unusable for unauthorized access. The triggered alarm alerts the security increasing safety in the lane. This dual functionality prevents/provides alarm against unauthorized entry and provides a responsive lighting solution, enhancing visibility for legitimate users and improving overall road safety. The paper leverages proximity sensors, microcontrollers, and communication interfaces to create a robust and efficient system.
