Cyber Forensic Evidence Protection System Using Blockchain Technology

The need for the preservation and authentication of the evidence is the task that can be most acutely lacking in the sphere of investigation of the digital crimes. The research gives an insight about how the embedded blockchain technology can present a better way of increasing the effectiveness of cyber forensic solutions. This paper examines the applicability of the blockchain, an inherently immutable and transparent technology to the enhancement of protection of cyber forensic evidences collected from computers, mobile devices and networks. A decentralized application is developed to upload, store, verify and validate the forensic evidences. The proposed system also checks the performance of the application using chrome DevTools, which indicates that large media files take longer time to load when compared to the normal text files this makes it easier to spot performance problems, manage media sizes, and speed up server response times. By leveraging blockchain's decentralized nature, the proposed system ensures the integrity and authenticity of digital evidence, providing a robust foundation for its admissibility in court proceedings.
