Balancing Technology and Personal Care in E-Hospital Services: Achieving Sustainable Healthcare through Digital India

The e-Hospital framework is a one-stop digital platform that connects patients, doctors, and hospitals via ICT software. The primary goal of the e-Hospital initiative is to apply technology to improve the effectiveness of healthcare for the people of the country, aligning with SDG 3, which aims to provide access to good-quality health services for all. This thereby paves the way to a more sustainable path towards fostering overall health and wellbeing among the beneficiaries. The current study aims to identify and analyze the Features of Patient-Doctor Relationship, Opinions on the Provision and Use of E-Hospital Services, and Factors Influencing the Usage of E-Hospital. This research followed a descriptive research design, and the target population was respondents residing in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The sampling design used is a non-probability convenience sampling technique. A structured questionnaire with a Likert scale was the primary tool for data collection. The findings highlighted that the respondents claimed that E-Hospital services are a new initiative in the healthcare sector. The factors influencing the usage of E-Hospital services might be based on the health site information, online search, and the possibility to offer opinions about E-Hospital services to government agencies. This initiative enables those using the E-Hospital services to enhance their satisfaction level by benefiting through online health services. The results of the study states that the need of the users to keep on engaged with the E-Hospital services is the most important aspect of factors influencing the usage of E-Hospital, and it will create self-confidence and aid the individuals to be self-reliant towards better usage of the E-Hospital services. The study thus opens up future possibilities for predetermined groups, such as the adoption, loyalty, and satisfaction of users through E-Hospital services.
