Virtual Reconstruction and 3D Modeling as Tool for Heritage Preservation

Virtual reality (VR) provides new opportunities for the preservation and presentation of cultural heritage. This article describes the process of creating a virtual tour of Strečno Castle. The result is an interactive and educational application that allows users to explore the castle in its contemporary and historical form. Despite their advantages, virtual reconstruction faces challenges such as data accuracy, ethical considerations, and technological limitations. This paper discusses these challenges and explores potential solutions, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in heritage conservation. Ul-timately, virtual reconstruction and 3D modeling provide in-novative approaches to preserving the past while making it accessible for future generations. In addition to cultural heritage, the methodologies and technologies examined in this study can be adapted for use in various other fields, including medicine.
