Numerical Buckling Analysis of Hemp Fiber-Reinforced Hybrid Composites in Wind Turbine Blades

The static analysis of the structure is not sufficient to test its stability under static loads, and a buckling analysis is necessary. In this paper, an optimal wind turbine blade made of epoxy resin reinforced with hemp/glass fiber was designed using the BEM method, analyzed using the finite element method with Patran®/Nastran® software, and a buckling analysis was performed under the ultimate load case corresponding to a Class I wind velocity (70 m/s). The results show that the buckling load factor for the 1st mode is greater than 1, indicating that the structure is safe, and that buckling does not occur.
