Design of a Dual-Band H-Cut Circular Antenna with Various Decoupling Methods for 5G NR Band

A dual-band microstrip patch antenna operating in the 3.3 GHz to 4.2 GHz frequency range is proposed for communication applications. The design aims to achieve high isolation (> -65 dB) and efficient performance using a neutralization line with an inline feed mechanism. Various decoupling methods are used to simulate the H -Slot circular patch and compared to get optimized solution. Key results indicate that the fabricated antenna NL M -3 antenna meets the design objectives. S11 simulated and measured values of -42 dB and -33 dB at 3.3 GHz, and -28.6 dB and -26.3 dB at 4.0 GHz respectively, demonstrate excellent impedance matching and low signal reflection. Isolation simulated and measured values of -66 dB and -60 dB at 3.3 GHz, and below -70 dB and -60 dB at 4.0 GHz, confirm the effectiveness of the neutralization line in reducing mutual coupling. The antenna also exhibits 7dBi gain and efficiency, making antenna a strong for dual-band operation in the 5G NR band.
