Smart Urban Maintenance: A Solar-Powered Autonomous Robot for Road and Drainage Cleaning Along with Waste Management Using AI

Urban sanitation and drainage maintenance are critical for sustainable city infrastructure. Sustainable municipal infrastructure requires maintaining urban drainage and sanitation. Traditional cleaning methods are inefficient, costly, and environmentally unsustainable because they rely on physical labor and fossil fuel-powered equipment. In order to enhance urban waste management, this study presents a Solar-Powered Autonomous Road Cleaning Robot that makes use of solar energy, IoT monitoring, and AI-driven navigation. Within a small, rust-resistant chassis, the robot has two revolving brushes, a vacuum system, and a retractable drainage cleaning pipe. The AI path planning allows to make autonomous navigation and detects obstacles in real-time. The IoT integrations help to track and monitor the robot, and can also gather the data automatically. A self-charging solar energy system can minimize the dependence of outside power source. Solar utilization maximizes energy sustainability during high cleaning, drainage maintenance and navigation. It has more advantages than traditional system with respect to cost saving, operational effectiveness. To improve the performance we can further concentrate on automated waste segregation, AI-driven decision-making.
