Exploring $\text{ZnA}1_{2}\mathrm{O}_{4}$ Nanoparticles for Wireless Applications: Insights from Sol-Gel Synthesis

The increasing demand for miniaturized and lightweight wireless microstrip patch antennas has driven extensive research into suitable dielectric materials. Zinc aluminate $(\text{ZnA}1_{2}\mathrm{O}_{4})$ nanoparticles exhibit low dielectric loss and high permittivity, making them promising candidates for microwave applications. In this study, $\text{ZnA}1_{2}\mathrm{O}_{4}$ nanoparticles were synthesized using the sol-gel technique, and their chemical composition, morphology, structural, and dielectric properties were systematically investigated. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis confirmed the formation of $\text{ZnA}1_{2}\mathrm{O}_{4}$ with a crystallite size of 19.5 nm, corresponding to the $\text{ZnO}$ wurtzite phase. Dielectric permittivity measurements at $30^\circ\mathrm{C}, 40^\circ\mathrm{C}$, and $50^\circ\mathrm{C}$ yielded values of 8.82, 8.80, and 8.78, respectively, while dielectric loss values were recorded as 0.06, 0.04, and 0.05. The results indicate that the dielectric loss decreases with increasing frequency, highlighting the suitability of $\text{ZnA}1_{2}\mathrm{O}_{4}$ nanoparticles for high-frequency microwave applications.
