End-to-End Secure Cryptographic System

Phishing is a pervasive and increasingly sophisticated cyberattack used by malicious actors to deceive individuals and steal sensitive information, such as passwords, credit card details, and personal data. These attacks often result in severe consequences, including identity theft, financial fraud, and unauthorized access to confidential systems. Despite the implementation of various security measures, phishing continues to pose a significant threat due to its adaptive nature. In response to this growing concern, we propose a novel solution to combat phishing attacks, titled the “Novel Antiphishing Framework Based on Visual Cryptography”. This innovative framework introduces a secure image-based authentication system that leverages the principles of Visual Cryptography (VC) to enhance security and privacy. The approach involves splitting an image CAPTCHA into two distinct, meaningless components, or “shares,” which are stored across different, independent database servers. Individually, these shares offer no information about the original CAPTCHA and appear as random patterns. However, when the shares are appropriately combined during the authentication process, the original CAPTCHA is reconstructed and revealed to the user. The reconstructed image then acts as a dynamic password, significantly enhancing the security of the authentication process. Even in the event of one share being intercepted or compromised, it remains entirely useless without the corresponding share, ensuring an added layer of security. By utilizing VC and a unique form of image-based authentication, this framework provides a robust defense mechanism against phishing attempts, making it extremely difficult for attackers to replicate or intercept authentication credentials. The proposed solution offers a novel and highly effective method for safeguarding user credentials, thereby addressing one of the most persistent challenges in cybersecurity.
