Low-Code/No-Code Platforms: Impact and Concerns

As Technology advances, the use of software and applications is increasing. This has greatly demanded applications and services to be delivered agilely. Thus, Low-Code/No-Code platforms emerged to allow non-technical/non-developers to build applications agilely that meet their own needs without going through the traditional software development process or needing experts and engineers. Despite Low-Code/No-Code platforms' significant advantages, several concerns must be considered. This paper investigates the impact and concerns of Low-Code/No-Code platforms and their complementarity with traditional coding. A comparative analysis and literature synthesis identifies Low-Code/No-Code limitations, such as scalability, security, and integration, and a hybrid approach is proposed. Findings suggest that Low-Code/N o-Code platforms excel in rapid development but require traditional coding for complex and scalable applications. This study provides a foundation for adopting hybrid solutions tailored to organizational needs.
