Performance Analysis of Grid Integrated Photovoltaic, Battery and Fuel Cell Hybrid Power System

This study presents an approach for energy management and system optimization in a hybrid system that includes a fuel cell, battery, and solar system. Determining the ideal configuration for the system’s component parts is the aim of optimization in order to achieve an economically efficient system. The EMS’s (Energy Management System) objective is to regulate the power distribution of system components in order to meet load demand while adhering to other limits. The scheme is to develop and implement a hybrid AC and DC microgrid that utilizes hydrogen storage as a complementary energy source alongside photovoltaic technology (PVT). A bidirectional converter will ease the link between the AC and DC networks that comprises of this microgrid. The research done has an emphasis on the integration of systems and the designing of controllers in order to facilitate the management of electricity in Microgrid system that is connected to the main power grid. A two-tier control system is put up, with a supervisory controller, that keeps the power balance between the dynamic load demand, hydrogen-based energy storage (fuel cell), and intermittent photovoltaic generation. PV system, fuel cell unit and battery system are additionally controlled locally.
