An Overview of Strengthening India’s Carbon Credit System through EV Aggregators

Decarbonization is vital for mitigating climate change and achieving sustainable development. India’s climate strategy includes the establishment of a domestic carbon market as part of its decarbonization roadmap. Key initiatives include the energy conservation act and the carbon credit trading scheme (CCTS). This paper provides a comprehensive overview of India’s carbon credit mechanisms, with a focus on the role of electric vehicle (EV) aggregators in carbon trading. It explores how EV aggregators can contribute to decarbonization, grid stability, and revenue generation through demand response algorithms and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) integration.
