Bridging Policy and Practice: A Systematic Review of Blockchain Adoption for Copyright Protection

This paper presents a systematic literature review categorizing initiatives for blockchain adoption into three distinct categories: (1) Background: Copyright Laws, (2) Advancements of Blockchain in Copyright Management, and (3) Policy Initiatives for Blockchain Adoption. The analysis spans 25 academic literature and reports published between 2020 and 2024, exploring government policies and regulatory frameworks surrounding blockchain technology's application in addressing copyright infringement and digital piracy. While existing policies primarily focus on cryptocurrency-related use cases, a noticeable gap in regulatory frameworks concerning blockchain's integration for copyright management still needs to be addressed. The paper underscores the need for qualitative analyses to inform comprehensive regulatory frameworks that leverage blockchain's potential to safeguard intellectual property rights and stimulate innovation across creative industries.
