Temperature-Dependent Photoluminescence Properties of Mn: CsPbCl3 Nanocrystals

Investigating the photoluminescence (PL) characteristics of CsPbCl3and Mn: CsPbCl3nanocrystals (NCs) through steady-state and time-resolved photoluminescence (TRPL) measurements, it is observed that CsPbCl3NCs exhibit an emission peak at 414 nm under 360 nm continuous-wave laser excitation. Mn: CsPbCl3NCs demonstrate a dual emission signature, with the band-edge exciton emission peak shifts to 404 nm and a distinct Mn emission peak at 606 nm. The observed blue shift may be attributed to the alterations in the band structure due to Mn doping, highlighting the substantial influence of doping on the optical characteristics. The temperature-dependent PL behavior of Mn: CsPbCl3NCs is examined over the temperature range of 80 to 440 K. With increasing temperature, a broadening of band-edge exciton emission peak and a decrease in PL integral intensity are observed. Fitting result of the temperature-dependent PL data yields an exciton binding energy (Eb) of approximately 68 meV and a longitudinal optical phonon energy $(h\omega_{op})$ of about 56 meV. TRPL measurements indicate an exciton emission lifetime of 0.63 ns and a Mn²⁺lifetime of 0.76 ms in Mn: CsPbCl3 NCs.
