A Study on Challenges and Solutions on Power Optimization Techniques in 5G Nr Communication for the Smartphone

The emergence of 5G NR communication has also contributed to the challenges for the power consumption and the various work towards the solution for this problem. Although the 3GPP Rel 16 and further has addressed this problem as well, but the efforts are also being made to handle the same from the device side. In this direction various know techniques are DRX, WUS, EPI, history based SSB synchronization and traffic classification models etc. The final goal is to save the power without affecting the quality of service. The modern techniques of artificial intelligence and machine learning can also contribute to this goal very effectively. We explore various issues and their corresponding solution in this survey work and lastly discussing the open area and future scope.
