Domestic and foreign energy storage participation in electricity market trading: practical analysis and prospects

Under the background of the "dual carbon" target, the proportion of new energy is gradually increasing, and the rapid development of new energy will bring huge challenges to the stable operation of the power system. In the system of large-scale integration of new energy, energy storage can effectively solve the problems of insufficient grid regulation capacity and increased difficulty in frequency stability caused by a high proportion of renewable energy.This article first analyzes the types, operational characteristics, and cost characteristics of energy storage, and then explores the development of energy storage marketization at home and abroad from the perspective of market practice. Finally, based on the current situation of China's new round of electricity reform and foreign experience, corresponding prospects are proposed for the participation of energy storage in the development of the electricity market in China.
