IoT-based Smart Barrier Guard System for Enhanced Safety and Traffic Management

This advanced IoT-based automatic barrier gate system focuses on the aspect of prioritization for emergency vehicles and enhances the traffic management systems. The proposed IoT-based system combines RFID technology in 98% detection accuracy, the application of vibration sensors in 95% collision detection, and Zigbee communication at 98% reliability. Similarly, the conditions at which it was conducted were simulated in the testing environment by managing 200 vehicles and 50 emergency scenarios which consequently went ahead to reduce their response time to emergencies down to 75% and improved the efficiency of the traffic by 70%. RFID detection accuracy was 98% at 15 meters distance, vibration sensors achieved 95% collision detection accuracy, and Zigbee ensured 98% communication reliability. The time taken by the barrier for its operation was 1.5 seconds and the power consumption was 7-10 watts. The above IoT-based solution brings wide improvement towards governing the urban traffic and safety based upon automation and real-time communication.
