Design and Development of Lithium Ferro Phosphate Battery Pack using MATLAB

The adoption of Electric Vehicles (EV) has grown substantially due to concern about environmental pollution, fossil fuel depletion and rising fuel cost. The battery pack is the core of EV functionality, which is serving as the primary energy source. As the battery technology determines the vehicle’s range, efficiency and charging capabilities, it is a crucial component for EV performance. This paper focus on the analysis of Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery characteristics for e-bike applications. A 44V, 12Ah battery pack was developed by connecting 12 cells in series, each with a parallel connection. The main objective of this paper work is to assess the battery pack’s performance under varying load conditions. Current and voltage measurements were recorded, and MATLAB simulations were conducted to analyze input-output waveforms for different resistor values. The results provide insights into the efficiency, voltage stability, and discharge characteristics of the battery pack, offering valuable data for optimizing e-bike battery performance.
