The Human Body Model and Charged Device Model Sensitivity Test of Embedded Contact Sensor

The electrostatic discharge sensitivity of the embedded contact sensors has evaluated, using the human body model and the charged device model which are in accordance with the ANSI/ESDA/JEDEC standards. The tested results explore the risk of ESD damage as the minimum breakdown voltage and the minimum breakdown potential have been revealed at 18.0 volts and 50.0 volts, respectively. These results highlight the need to review the effectiveness of the current ESD control program which is developed for protecting the ESD sensitive items susceptible to damage by ESD event greater than or equal to 100 volts of human body model and 200 volts of charged device model. The changes or tightening may be required to prevent the possibility of causing damage from ESD in the production line where these sensors are handled, assembled, or tested.
