Electromagnetic Field study of Solar EV Charging Power Transmission Line Using the 3D Finite Element Method

This paper present a study on the electromagnetic field of a power transmission line used for solar EV charging through the 3D Finite Element Method (FEM) by varying the conductor material type. The study is divided into four parts: beginning with the design of the study area's elements, followed by the exploration of approximation functions within 3D elements, the creation of element equations, and finally, the simulation of electromagnetic field distribution. The approach involves dividing the study area using tetrahedral elements (it is a shape with the least number of nodes and connections), applying equations derived from element-based approximations, and solving them in MATLAB. The study's results indicate that the conductor type affects the electromagnetic field values (favored by transmission line), with the minimum fields at a 1-meter distance from the source being 1.2357 µT for copper (Cu) and 1.2339 µT for aluminum (Al). Both conductor types exhibit electromagnetic field values at a 1meter distance from the source (throughout the day) that do not exceed the ICNIRP standard.
