Design and Develop a Feasibility Economics Program for the Optimal Sizing of Photovoltaic Rooftop Installation via Using Google Worksheet

In the present day, renewable energy has gained significant popularity worldwide, particularly in rooftop photovoltaic systems in Asia, such as Thailand and Japan. This surge in popularity is mainly due to the accessibility of these systems, which current technologies have dramatically enhanced. These technologies have also urged the growth of photovoltaic design programs. Because the sellers and installers of photovoltaic systems are now required to estimate the solar power available on the rooftop of a building and in a specific area, including the typical investment cost and technical engineering report such as engineering calculation sheets and installation drawings. These can be seen in the various photovoltaic design software such as PVSyst, PV*Sol, RETScreen, SolarEdge, Helioscope, etc. This research aims to design and develop a program using the Google Worksheet to maximize the effectiveness of installation and minimize the investment. The program will be involved in determining the optimal sizing of rooftop photovoltaic systems, assessing the feasibility of the project, and presenting typical installation drawings. The standards and regulations are strictly followed to ensure the safety of installation and the operating system. The proposed program can enable the simulated scenarios based on the electricity provider and electricity tariff to determine the generated energy and forecast potential investment and savings. The program function can support updating materials, data, and pricing using Google Worksheets. The program can also develop the relationship between the engineer, installer, and client as it can present the accuracy and efficiency of the design project and reduce the losses of materials from installation. This makes it an essential program for the engineering, installer and client. The program results are validated against the electricity provider's website and commercial photovoltaic design software such as PVSyst and PV*Sol to ensure performance and accuracy.
