Power Management and Control of a PV-Hydro-Biomass-Battery-Based Standalone DC Microgrid

Renewable sources like PV, wind, hydro, and biomass energy are vital in today's generation system for mitigating environmental pollution. Hybridization is encouraged because of the intermittent nature of these non-conventional energy sources. Load demand satisfaction and power management are ensured by the battery management system (BMS). BMS also ensures maintaining DC link voltage and charging-discharging cycles of the battery. More than two renewable sources are considered for a more reliable and robust system. The analysis is done at various dynamic changes in the system. The behavioral changes in energy sources with respect to load and storage systems is observed. The overarching goal is to investigate and evaluate various technical aspects of hybrid renewable energy storage system (HRESS), encompassing system architectures, modeling approaches, power conversion strategies, and optimization methodologies, to facilitate the effective integration and operation of multiple renewable energy sources and energy storage technologies within a unified hybrid system.
