Modelling and Simulation of SPR Sensor for Skin Cancer Detection

This MATLAB numerical simulation-based study carries out a novel SPR design of silver as the primary plasmonic material with lithium niobate and silicon nitride nanolayers for skin cancer cell detection. The SPR reflectance and resonance angle have been investigated using the transfer matrix method. At an operating wavelength of 633 nm, the proposed sensor's execution parameters, such as sensitivity, detection accuracy, and quality factor, are investigated. The reflectance spectra are analyzed using the angular interrogation method. The highest sensitivity for the proposed sensor was obtained at 302.5 deg/RIU.
